Fusing the beauty of the past with the technology of the future, Kali Hotels highlight Colombia's warmth and style. Situated in the historic cities of Cartagena, Santa Marta and surrounding areas, these boutique hotels not only provide the comfort of home, but the enchantment of a tropical paradise.
The Kogi Indians of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta are one of the last truly indigenous tribes of the world. Never conquered by the Spanish, they retreated into the canyons and glaciers of the world's highest coastal mountain range. In their language, "Kali" is the Tree of Life. By adopting the name Kali, we strive to bring together the indigenous roots of our surroundings with our paramount respect for the natural world and our commitment to preserving the area's traditional culture.
We started in 2008 with the remodeling of a 19th century house we now call Casa de Isabella. It became the first boutique hotel in the city of Santa Marta. Built with the most modern luxuries, Casa de Isabella boasts ten distinct rooms, a rooftop pool, complimentary iPads, and Apple TV for every guest.
Villa Maria de la Sierra Nevada adds another element to the Kali Hotel experience. On the coast forty minutes outside the city, we offer 4 unique rooms overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This intimate jungle retreat has the feel of being inside nearby Tayrona National Park, without the crowds. As an organic farm, the surrounding land currently supplies our city hotels with 100% of their produce.
Casa de Leda has been a project two years in the making. Named for the woman whom Zeus seduced while disguised as a swan, we remodeled this historic house with eleven rooms and full spa. The relaxing atmosphere is the perfect retreat after a day's hike in Tayrona National Park or a night out dancing.
Casa La Fe Cartagena is the newest addition to Kali Hotels. The building dates from the Republican era and was restored to its former elegance by the current owners in 2005. Hotel Casa La Fe is ideally located on Plaza Fernandez de Madrid in the heart of the city, offering a calm and relaxed atmosphere but with the convenience of the town's antiquities, restaurants and entertainments on the doorstep.
As we look forward, Kali Hotels and the Colombian coast of Santa Marta and Cartagena have a bright future. Constantly striving towards perfection in hospitality, we hope to grow with Santa Marta and Cartagena and help advance tourism development that is both sustainable and beneficial to the community.
